Man Accused Of Exposing Himself Outside A Food Lion Store

BURLINGTON, N.C.-- Burlington Police said a man is facing charges of indecent liberties after someone reported he was exposing himself outside a Food Lion store on W. Webb Avenue.

Officers were called to the store Thursday after a woman said she saw a man exposing himself and masturbating on the sidewalk in front of the store. The woman said her daughter and another child she was caring for were in the car with her when she saw the suspect.

The woman first reported it to a Burlington firefighter who had just pulled into the business. Officers believe the man saw the woman talking to the firefighter and ran off. After driving around the area, they spotted a man, on Granville St., who fit the description given by the woman.

Police identified the suspect as Robert Lloyd May, 26. After questioning him at the police station, May was charged with Indecent Exposure and Indecent Exposure, because it happened in the presence of a minor child.

May was placed in the Alamance County Jail under a $200,000 bond.
