Man Dies After Being Shot By Break-in Suspect: Winston-Salem Police

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Police say a man died after being shot by a break-in suspect at his house in Winston-Salem. 

Officers were called to a home break-in on Tise Avenue shortly after midnight Saturday. Police say there was a report of armed suspects in the house. 

Investigators say a person inside the home had been shot. 

Officers found Mr. Travaris Gourdine inside the house with a gunshot wound. He was taken to Baptist Hospital where he later died. 

This is the 25th homicide for Winston-Salem in 2017.
