Over $275K Embezzled By Funeral Home Employee: Forsyth Sheriff

Rural Hall, N.C. -- Deputies say a woman who worked at a funeral home in Rural Hall stole more than $275,000 from the business.

Teresa Ashley Marion was charged with Accessing a Computer to Defraud or Obtain Property and Embezzlement by an Employee. Investigators say she stole $278,666.51 from Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home.

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office says it got a call about money being embezzled from the funeral home back in March.

Investigators arrested Marion on September 30. She was released from the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Detention Center after posting a $50,000 secured bond.
