THOMASVILLE, N.C. -- A man who led Thomasville Police Officers on a chase on Tuesday evening has been arrested.
Officers responded to an armed robbery the intersection of Davidson Street and MLK Drive.
The victim told police he was stopped at the intersection when a man driving a blue Porsche drove up next to him, pointed a gun, and demanded money.
Two pedestrians saw what happened and yelled - that's when the man took off.
The Porsche driver led officers on a chase throughout Thomasville and eventually into Cushwa Stadium - Thomasville High School's home football stadium.
Police say the Porsche driver tried spinning his car around quickly to get away, but that's when he drove into the path of the police cruiser and caused a small crash.
The suspect kept going, and the chase eventually ended at the intersection Stadium Drive and June Street - that's where the Porsche driver drove into the path of the police cruiser, causing another crash.
The man tried to run away, but was eventually caught and arrested.
Jesse Wayne Buchanan was charged with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, felonious flee and elude, and driving while license revoked.
Officers recovered guns from the Porsche. Buchanan received a $50,000 secured bond and was placed in the Davidson County Jail.
