Police: Man Broke Into Woman's Home While She Was Showering

BURLINGTON, N.C. -- Burlington police are looking for the man who they say assaulted a woman after he climbed into her house through a window.

Police went to the 1600 block of Preston Street on Sunday afternoon.

The woman told investigators she was in the shower when the man came into her house and sexually assaulted her. She said he came in through an unlocked window.

The woman said she was able to fight off the man and ran outside for help.

Officers were unable to find him. Police said the victim didn't know the man and it appears to be a completely random act.
