Police: Man in Hospital After Friends Beat Him With Brick

BURLINGTON, N.C.-- Police in Burlington are investigating an assault that left a man seriously injured early Wednesday morning.

Police officers and other emergency responders were dispatched to a house on Askew Street, Burlington after a 911 call. Officers found Phillip Evans II, 23 lying on the living room floor with cuts to his head and face. Investigators were told that Evans was beaten with a brick by two people he knew.

Due to the severity of his injuries, Evans was taken to Duke University Medical Center by EMS.

A Burlington Police Department K9 was utilized during this incident.

Police identified the suspects as Quentin Beasley, 29, and Detrick Beasley, 27, both of Burlington.

Warrants were obtained on Quentin Beasley for Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury and Detrick Beasley for Assault Inflicting Serious Injury.

Police said they haven't served the warrants on either man.
