Police: Suspect Abandons Cash, Gun After Dye Pack Explodes

HIGH POINT, N.C. – High Point police say a bank robbery suspect left a gun and some stolen cash behind after a dye pack from a money bag exploded.

The robbery happened late Tuesday morning at the First Citizens Bank on North Main Street.

Police say the suspect went into the bank and gave a teller a note demanding money.

No shots were fired.

A police K-9 tracked the suspect to a parking lot on East Westwood Avenue, where they found the money and the gun.
