Robbery Suspects Get Away in 2 Separate Greensboro Cases: Police

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Robbery suspects got away in two separate incidents in Greensboro on Thursday.

One of the crimes happened at the Speedway at 5916 West Market Street Thursday afternoon.

Police say two men tried to rob the store - one of them had a short-barreled gun.

An employee stopped the would-be robbers, and the two men left - that's when the suspects encountered two fence workers and the four of them got into a scuffle.

Police say one of the suspects fired their gun, and the criminals got away.

In a separate incident, Greensboro Police say a man tried to rob a SunTrust Bank on North Elm Street.

That robbery happened around 11:30 a.m. Bank employees told police a man walked into the business with his face covered by a white bandana, showed a gun, and demanded money.

Police say the man got away with cash.

No one was hurt in either of these crimes. If you have any information that can help police, call Crime Stoppers at 336-373-1000. All calls are completely anonymous.
