Thomasville Driver Charged In Hit-And-Run

THOMASVILLE, N.C. -- The Thomasville Police Department has arrested a man charged in connection with hitting a motorcyclist and injuring another one.

Police say 22-year-old, Dwight Chambers of Thomasville, was trying to turn into a parking lot off Winston Street Monday, when he failed to see two motorcyclists. Investigators say Chambers hit Cody Eugene Johnson. But they also say Nathan Gene Surratt who was riding behind Johnson was injured while trying to avoid Chambers' car. Johnson was found lying in the roadway with serious injuries to his body.

Chambers is charged with Felony Hit-And-Run, Unsafe Movement in relation to a Motorcycle, and Driving While License Suspended. He was placed in the Davidson County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
