UNCC QB Kevin Olsen's Rape Case Goes to Grand Jury Monday: Reports

Kevin Olsen Indicted On Rape Charges

CHARLOTTE, NC  UNC Charlotte quarterback Kevin Olsen's life has dramatically changed after four charges were brought against him in February.

The suspended quarterback is no longer listed on the football roster at UNCC and on Monday, his rape case is set to go before a Mecklenburg County Grand Jury, according to media reports.

According to the District Attorney, Olsen's ex-girlfriend claims that he raped her at an off-campus campus apartment after a night of drinking. Olsen became outraged over text messages sent to her, and when she refused to have sex with him, he forced himself on her three times.

Incident reports showed that the ex-girlfriend suffered bruising and scratches. She later filed a restraining order against Olsen in March.

Charges to be brought against Olsen include three counts of felony second-degree forcible rape, communicating threats, assault on a female and second degree sex offense. Each rape charge carries a possible 10-year sentence.

Kevin Olsen is the younger brother of Carolina Panthers Tight End Greg Olsen, who has yet to publicly comment on the case.

UNC Charlotte head football coach Brad Lambert suspended the quarterback after he was charged.
