WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- A woman and a 14-year-old boy were arrested in connection with an attack and purse-snatching that happened in the Hanes Mall parking lot in late November.
Police say 28-year-old Brittney Little was charged with five counts of obtaining property by false pretense, misdemeanor breaking and entering, felony larceny, two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and two counts of probation violation.
The 14-year-old boy was given a juvenile petition.
Criminal Investigations Division Lt. Mike Cardwell says the boy attacked the shopper in the parking lot, knocking her to the ground. The boy took off with the woman's purse, dragging her a few feet during the whole ordeal. Lt. Cardwell says the boy then got into a vehicle with Brittney Little.
Police say Little used the victim's credit cards at different businesses around Winston-Salem.
Lt. Cardwell says investigators were able to make an arrest with the help of surveillance and by tracing the credit card purchases.
Police did not say the relationship between Little and the teenage boy.
