Woman In Deadly Hit-And-Run Accident Faces More Charges

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The woman accused of killing a man by hitting him with her vehicle and dragging him more than two miles is facing additional charges.

Officials charged Viola Demitria Spencer on Tuesday with felony hit and run, and misdemeanor death by motor vehicle. Her bond is set at $100,000.

Last week, officials charged Spencer with Destroy/Alter/Conceal/Tamper with evidence and set her bond at $25,000.

The hit-and-run accident happened Wednesday in the 2500 block of North Cleveland Avenue. Police said they followed blood trails for about 2 ½ miles down the road.

First responders found 54-year-old John Otis Hill's body at Kapp Street and Idlewild Industrial Drive. He later died from injuries at an area hospital.
