GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. -- Students at Southeast High are taking turns in the kitchen baking up thousands of cupcakes.
All day on Wednesday students helped make the cupcakes for Emily's Kids Cupcake Sale. Next, students will sale more than 2,000 cupcakes to help raise money to help fight pediatric cancer.
Emily's Kids was started in honor a former Southeast student. Emily Field lost her battle with cancer in 2008. She was known as a member of the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) club.
The club and its leaders came up with Emily's Kids to help raise money for gift cards to give to families who have children in pediatric cancer wards. All proceeds are donated to the charity.
