Father Asks For A Facebook Tribute Video For His Son

ST.LOUIS -- A grieving father reached out to Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg Wednesday.

John Berlin who lives in a suburb of St. Louis lost his son in January 2012 after he died in his sleep.

Berlin saw the 'A Look Back' videos Facebook unveiled Tuesday and wanted one of his 21-year-old son, but had no way of accessing his son's account.

According to the Associated Press, that's when Berlin reached out using YouTube to Zuckerberg asking him to release a retrospective video tribute of his son.

The YouTube video has drawn almost 2 million views

Facebook typically disables the accounts of people who have died. But, Thursday the company released a statement saying it would grant Berlin's request and suggested Facebook might alter its policies on information posted by users who later died.

Berlin said he was overwhelmed by Facebook's quick response as well as the messages of support he's received from all over the world.
