North Carolina -- The recovery from Hurricane Matthew continues in North Carolina.
Chances are, you have family members or friends or know someone in eastern North Carolina dealing with the devastation.
With the extent of damage and length of recovery, they might need some sort of legal help.
Attorneys with Legal Aid have set up a hotline to help the storm victims navigate the legal system.
Attorneys can help with securing FEMA and other benefits available to disaster survivors, help with life, medical and property insurance claims, looking over home repair contracts and contractors.
They can also help draft replacement wills and other important legal documents destroyed in the disaster and much more.
The phone help is being offered to only Hurricane Matthew victims, at no cost. The hotline can be reached at 1-800-662-7407.
It is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
