GREENSBORO, NC -- It's Friday, and we still can't shake the storms. It's a weather pattern that just won't change; hot, humid, with the threat of late-day thunderstorms. Like the last few days, the Piedmont will get hit again today by some thunderstorms, and a few could pack a punch.
Sunshine will give way to pop-up downpours and thunderstorms this afternoon. The winds are very weak, so they'll drift very slowly over the course of several hours. The best chance for the Triad to see storms today will be from late afternoon through mid-evening.
Most of the thunderstorms that form today will not produce any damage. However, some of the storms could get a bit stronger, with constant lightning, torrential rain, and a few isolated damaging wind gusts. Keep your guard up and be on alert for any warnings if they're issued.
