2 Fatal Hit-And-Run Cases Reopened In Alamance County

ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. – Troopers with the NC Highway Patrol in Alamance County are re-opening two fatal hit and runs from 2013.

Every year in August, troopers say they do a 'fatal review' where they try and find new evidence. This is done state-wide.

Troopers are asking for the public's help in finding more information from two fatal hit-and-run's in Alamance County.

The first happened on March 9 at I-40/85 near NC 62 in Burlington. 28-year-0ld Rodney Link was seen standing in the middle of the highway when a tractor trailer struck him according to witnesses. Troopers say this happened close 2 a.m.

The second incident happened on July 13 around 11:34 p.m. on Altamahaw Union Ridge Road. 54-year-old Timothy Lea of Burlington was lying in the road when he was hit by a car.

Troopers said Lea had been drinking and had a BAC of .33. Witnesses told troopers they saw an SUV hit him.
