2 NC Children Killed in Car Crash, Driver Charged

ST. PAULS, N.C.-- The North Carolina Highway Patrol (NCSHP) is investigating a deadly collision that killed two children and injured several others Tuesday night in Robeson County.

Trooper Mike Chavis told WBTW the accident which involved several cars happened around 9:13pm on NC 20 outside of St. Pauls near Nash Road.

Chavis says a group of four cars was traveling east on NC 20. Three of the cars began to slow down, but one driver did not, striking the vehicle traveling in front and pushing that car into oncoming traffic. The car that was pushed across the center line hit a car traveling west head-on.

Two young children in the westbound car were killed in the crash. The children were identified as Reanna Clark, 10, and Rakylah Clark, 7, of St Pauls.

Chavis told the station that neither child was restrained. Two other people in the car were seriously injured. People in the other cars were injured in the crash, but no other information was available for release on them.

Jamec Bracey, of Fayetteville, is charged with two counts of misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.
