#2BeSweet: Thank You For Helping Us Spread Kindness

2 Be Sweet: Pass On The Kindness

WFMY News 2 wants to thank everyone who helped us spread sweetness on Monday. We launched 2 Be Sweet Day after Reese's sent the 2 Wants to know (2WTK) office 1,356 Reese's Peanut Butter Cups last month. Here's why:

A viewer saw a Facebook post about Reese's taking the candy off the shelves. She asked 2WTK to find out if it was true. The media person I  spoke to said I was the first reporter to actually call the company. She said other media simply wrote about it and said it couldn’t be real. And so she sent me a whole lot of Reese’s.

By the way, the Reese’s official statement read in part, "suffice to say, the story is not true. Rest assured, the only people removing Reese's products from shelves are consumers, who are taking them home to eat."

So, what do you do with 1,300+ Reese's?!?! You share them. WFMY News 2 team members gave people across the Triad two packages. One for them and one to give to someone else. Make the sweetness spread!

We're passing the #2BeSweet Resse's Cups along to Our revenue collection team. They're in! #WFMY @tanyagatorgirl @wfmy2 @3gracesdance

We wrapped up the day at the WFMY News 2 Winterfest at Lebauer Park where we handed out Reese's Outrageous and Hershey Gold. (They are not on store shelves yet!)
