Coping With Valentine's Day Delivery Disruptions

GREENSBORO, NC -- the last time there was a big snow storm - it was Christmas gifts that couldn't be delivered. It was a mess and people were mad. Now the biggest flower delivery holiday is here and so is the snow. Unlike most businesses, many local florists were open and scrambling to make good on their deliveries. Tami Garner with Garner's Florist had one reaction to this huge delivery disruption. Tami says, "I cried. I just cried."

Garner's has 200 deliveries to make Friday How's Tami going to make that happen? "We're making calls, seeing if we can deliver it to them at home today. If we can deliver another day. Even on into Monday."

That's something we should all keep in mind. If you have sent flowers - they may have to be delivered on a different day. Tami says most folks understood about the delivery disruption - and as a small business she is really thankful. Valentine's day is the biggest one-day holiday that helps them make it through the rest of the year.
