Fit & Active Bars Recalled at Aldi Stores

Leclerc Foods is voluntarily recalling its Fit & Active Chocolatey Chip Protein Meal Bars after a consumer found a small piece of yellow plastic, the FDA says.

(WLTX) - Leclerc Foods is voluntarily recalling a single lot of its Fit & Active Chocolatey Chip Protein Meal Bars, the FDA says.

The recall was issued as a precautionary measure after a consumer found a small piece of yellow plastic. No illness or injury has been reported.

The product contains a "best by" date of May 24, 2018, UPC code 41498-18695 and were sold in 9.5-ounce boxes containing six bars per box.

Aldi stores distributed the product in in 21 states, including Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, Maryland, District of Columbia, New Jersey, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia and West Virginia.

All stores have removed the affected product, according to the FDA.
