But when you're online, some retailers want you to put the item in your cart before they show you the price. What gives?
Consumer Reports says it's not a trick to get you to spend more, in fact, you could be saving money!
The hidden price is an indication the retailer is charging less than the minimum price some manufacturers impose on their product. By making you fetch the item, The retailer gets around violating the manufacturer's minimum price policy.
