How To Stick To Your Diet At The Fair

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Fried oreos. Fried PB & J's. Fried green pickles. Corn dogs. Turkey legs. Cotton candy. All that grub at the Dixie Classic Fair sounds soooo yummy, but when you go to munch go with company. Registered Dietitian Annette Frain says that's the best way to taste it all without overloading on calories.

She says portion sizes at the fair are out of control. The turkey leg for example is about 1,100 calories.

For a semi-healthy treat, pick up the frozen banana or strawberries. Yes they are dipped in chocolate, but overall your portion size and the amount of chocolate are limited.

A grilled chicken pita or sandwich is also a smart choice.

But the bottom line is enjoy the food, just don’t over indulge.
