GREENSBORO, NC – WHAT?!?!? Did you see the Facebook post claiming “World’s most popular candy, Reese’s, to be removed from shelves by October 2017”?
Laytoa saw this article and asked 2WTK if this was true. Umm…..no. 2WTK called and talked with the media spokesperson for Reese's.
She told me that there was no way that was happening. She sent ma an official statement which says, “Suffice to say, the story is not true. ...... Rest assured, the only people removing Reese's products from shelves are consumers, who are taking them home to eat."
But really, this is a good lesson for all kinds of news like this. If something doesn’t sound believable, check the source. Latoya saw the article from BreakingNews360.com.
When you scroll down to the bottom of the webpage, it clearly says,
"this website is an entertainment website. News are created by users, these are humorous new, fantasy, fictional that should not be seriously taken or as a source of information."
So, it's not real. When we talk about fake news, this is it, and it says so. Before you believe something, and share it, and get your friends in a frenzy, really look at it.
