New Numbers Show NC Veterans Affairs Wait Times Worse Than Reported

The numbers just keep getting seems. Every time more information from a Veterans Affairs audit is released-- the wait time for medical care increases!

2WTK broke down the average wait times for new patients of VA facilities in North Carolina last week: Fayetteville: average 56 days,Durham: average 42 days, Asheville: average 19 days, Salisbury: average 23 days. All more than the 14 day wait time goal.

Now, new calculations and our news partners USA TODAY

put them on an interactive map for you. When you take a closer look at North Carolina, the information for 3 of our 4 facilities has changed. When you click on one of the icons, an info box shows you the changes. In Salisbury, the new data shows the average new patient wait time is 28 days that's 5 days more than originally reported.

Durham's wait time increased by 21 days to 64 days. Asheville's wait time increased by 10 days to 30 days.
