Say Cheese! How To Look Better In Pictures

GREENSBORO, NC -- You can't get away from cameras-- especially here at News 2. But when it comes to still pictures model Giovanni Ramadani and Greensboro Fashion Week's Witneigh Davis are the experts.

"Behind the scenes, there are about 200 pictures being taken, but only 2 are used. So whenever you look at a model and you're like 'that's a perfect picture', it took a lot of takes to get that one," says Giovanni.

These two know the secrets of getting that good picture. To cure the common picture problem of closed or squinty eyes, Witneigh says, "close your eyes and on the count of 3 open them. You're smiling the whole time that they're closed, but you're just making sure your eyes are the biggest that look the best."

All the camera angles in our studio are set at one height. But when you take pictures, the rule is different. "For females, the rule is getting it higher. The angle is better here than on the bottom of your chin because you don't want your chin to look fluffier than it is. "

Check out the high angle and the low angle. The high angle is better!

"If you know you like this side, when your friends line up get on that side," says Giovanni, "Yes, pick that side before someone else does because there might be a fight."

The picture we show the most and it looks the worst? Our driver's license. Witneigh says don't treat renewing your driver's license like an errand! She says freshen up before taking your picture so you won't be embarrassed to show it.
