Town Curfew Over Snow Starts A Storm Of Controversy

GREENSBORO, NC -- Dobson put a 6 p.m curfew in place on Wednesday night. By then, the town already had six inches of snow on the ground. The town manager put a curfew in place. The thinking - keep people off the streets so the crews could do their jobs.

When we put this development on Facebook, we had all kinds of people chiming in. More than 150 people commented. Holly said, "Yes sounds good to me. People have no business out on bad roads." Chris said, "Curfews are not needed. Now common sense, that is needed."

We called the Dobson town manager today to see if a curfew would be in effect tonight but we didn't hear back.

We talked to several other local departments to see if they thought in the situation the curfew was needed. Most thought no - that once people got home from work or got stuck in the gridlock of the afternoon commute - they were done. In fact - they said last night was a pretty quiet night.
