THOMASVILLE, NC - A 23-year-old man died Friday night after hitting a car head-on while riding his motorcycle, according to police.
Police responded to the 110 block of National Highway a little after 7:00 Friday night. They said two motorcycles were driving at a high speed going south on National Highway when they saw a Ford Mustang.
The Mustang was stopped in the inside, southbound lane of the highway waiting to make a left turn into Old Dominion Freight Line.
One motorcycle passes the car to the right, and the other motorcycle, driven by Aaron Chase Sellars, 23, attempted to go around the car.
While Sellars was passed the Mustang he clipped it, causing a head-on collisions with a Ford Focus.
Sellars died on the scene.
National Highway, between Business 85 and Lake Drive East, was closed nearly three hours as TPD’s Traffic Safety Unit investigated. The investigation is ongoing. No alcohol is suspected.
