$2M Powerball Win Means Dream Home For Rowan County Man

RALEIGH, N.C. -- A Rowan County man plans to build his dream home after winning $2 million on a Powerball ticket.

Michael McNair of Spencer says he immediately called his mom to share the good news.

"I just won $1 million dollars.” McNair told his mom on the phone. “Oh wait. Hold on. I Power Played. I actually won $2 million dollars!”

He bought the lucky ticket at the J&K C Store on Concord Mills Boulevard in Concord. He used the quick pick option.

After taxes, he took home $1,390,020.

McNair says he plans to build a custom house for his 9-year-old son and wife. He also wants to buy a white BMW.

His ticket matched numbers on five white balls to win $1 million. He won double because he added the Power Play feature, and a 2X multiplier was drawn.

McNair's $2 million prize was the only big win in the country for the October 11 drawing.
