90-Year-Old Woman Attacked In Thomasville

THOMASVILLE, N.C. -- The Thomasville Police Department is investigating after an 90-year-old woman was attacked Saturday night at her home on Unity Street.

Officers are going door to door, canvassing the area for any information regarding the home invasion.

Police say the victim had just returned to her house after working outside in her yard when she was attacked by a man. She told them the man stole her money before running away.

Emergency workers said the woman was conscious but bleeding once they arrived. She was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in stable condition.

Later Sunday, the victim was released from the hospital.
