Alamance Co. Deputies Arrest Man After Car And Foot Chase

ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C.-- A Burlington, NC man is facing numerous charges on various crimes after a traffic stop that lead to a car and foot chase in Alamance County.

According to the Alamance County Sheriff's Office, deputies stopped a car for a traffic violation on Highway 70 in Haw River around 10:15 p.m. Friday. When deputies approached the car, they said the driver sped off towards Burlington and turned on North Church St. in an attempt to get away from them.

Deputies said the car was traveling about 80 mph on N. Church St. and during the chase they saw the driver throw a package out the window before pulling into a parking lot on N. Church St. near Bland Blvd. The suspect wasn't done running, because officers said he then jumped from the car and ran off. He was caught after a brief foot chase and taken into custody.

A narcotic sniffing K-9 was brought to the area and indicated on the package the presence of narcotics. Deputies checked the package and found 548 grams of cocaine, which has an estimated street value of over $40,000.00.

During the investigation deputies also seized an AR-15 Rifle, two .40 caliber semi-auto pistols, a stolen dirt bike out of Goldsboro and seized the 2007 BMW the suspect was driving.

The suspect is identified as Hector Luis Rolon, 41, of Burlington. He is charged with:

  • Felony Flee to Elude w/Motor Vehicle
  • Speeding 80 MPH in 45 MPH Zone
  • Reckless Driving to Endanger
  • Resisting an Officer
  • Trafficking Cocaine
  • PWISD Cocaine
  • Maintaining a Vehicle for C/S
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Possession of Stolen Property

Rolon is in the Alamance County Detention Center under a $128,500.00 secured bond.
