Amber Alert Canceled For 3-Month-Old NC Girl

HAYWOOD COUNTY, N.C. - The Amber Alert issued Wednesday morning for a missing 3-month-old in North Carolina has been canceled.

Officers confirm 3-month-old Cali Marie Cochran has been found. The child is safe and is being evaluated by medical personnel at this time, which is standard procedure when a child is involved.

Her non-custodial parents, Rex Douglas Cochran Jr. and Heather Marie Cochran, were taken into custody around 5:25 PM at 445 Coffee Lane in Fletcher, North Carolina.

Officers from the Fletcher Police Department and deputies from the Henderson County Sheriff's Office made entry and located them in the basement of a home there.

Heather and Rex Cochran are wanted in North Dakota on felony child abuse charges. Police say they left Haywood County after an emergency custody order was issued.

The investigation is ongoing and officials with the Henderson County Sheriff's Office will release further later on this evening.
