Amber Alert Canceled; Greensboro Siblings Found Safe

Amber Alert Cancelled, Kids Still Missing

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- An Amber Alert for 6-year-old Davion McCollum and 2-year-old Neveah McCollum has been canceled, police say.

Police announced the cancelation in a news release around 4 p.m. Thursday. Authorities issued the Amber Alert Tuesday night, after social workers came to the family's house on Durham Street and could not find them.

As of Sunday morning the siblings have been found according to Greensboro police.

The representative said investigators originally believed Davion McCollum had a significant medical condition that put him in "immediate danger," and prompted the Amber Alert. Police say they have since learned that his condition is not as serious as first thought.

Investigators do still want to find the family to make sure Davion is getting the medical care he needs.

The representative told WFMY News 2 their children's mother will not face charges when they are found.

Davion McCollum is described as six years old, three feet tall with black hair and brown eyes. He also has a medical condition and is missing two toes on his right foot.

Nevaeh McCollum is two feet tall with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen with yellow barrettes in her hair and wearing a white top with blue jean shorts.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 336-373-1000.
