School Offers Support For Displaced Students

Forsyth Technical Community College is reaching out to displaced ITT Tech students.

ITT Tech's unexpected closing this week due to an investigation and sanctions by the U.S. Department of Education left many students in the dark. FTCC plans to work with former ITT Tech students to develop a strategy through existing programs to continue their education.

“This is a very fluid situation for ITT students and for us,” says Rachel Desmarais, Forsyth Tech’s executive vice president and chief operating officer. "“ITT students who reach out to us will receive personal, one-on-one support. Each situation will be unique and must be considered carefully on a case-by-case basis."

Forsyth offers several programs that are similar to those offered at ITT Tech such as Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration, Graphic Design, Registered Nursing, and Computer and Information Systems Security.

Students interested in continuing their education at FTCC should contact registrar Gwen Whitaker (336.734.7471, gwhitaker@forsythtech.edu) or college recruiter Eddie Waddell (336-734-7326, ewaddell@forsythtech.edu).
