AT&T And Verizon Help Hurricane Matthew Victims

GREENVILLE, N.C. – AT&T and Verizon announced they lifted their data restrictions for certain customers impacted by Hurricane Matthew.

AT&T announced customers in the following North Carolina counties won’t have overage charges from Oct. 7 until Oct. 10: Beaufort, Carteret, Craven, Dare, Duplin, Hyde, Jones, Onslow and Pamlico.

AT&T customers with GoPhone will have their payment date for voice and text services extended from Oct. 8 until Oct. 10.

Cricket Wireless will not suspend customers for late payments from Oct. 8 through the 10.

Verizon Wireless is also waiving fees for data overage for certain customers. Customers in the following county won’t have overage charges for data used between Oct. 7 and Oct. 11: Brunswick, Columbus, New Hanover, Pender. Verizon later expanded their area to include  Bladen, Cumberland, Duplin, Onslow, and Robeson counties.
