Block Party Aimed To Give Hope To People

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- World Victory International Christian Center (WVICC) had a block party Saturday.

WFMY News 2's Frank Mickens had a hand in the block party that had much more than just games and food. It helped those who needed it most. The church gave away groceries, dozens of bags of school supplies, 300 boxes of clothes for kids and adults and haircuts.

The goal was to let everyone there know they are loved and there is hope for any type of situation. Since 2005, WVICC has touched more than 12,000 people through its events. Some of the events were under a previous church name, Anderson Grove Baptist Church.
