Burlington Road Rage Shooting Suspect Arrested By U.S. Marshals

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- A man accused of shooting at a car after a road rage incident in Burlington was arrested by U.S. Marshals on Tuesday.

U.S. Marshals took 24-year-old Jose David Carvajal into custody after a traffic stop. He is charged with two counts of felony assault with a deadly weapon, and discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle.

Alamance County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the shooting at the intersection of Glen Raven Road and Durham Street on August 12. Investigators say Carvajal followed behind a car after being involved in an alleged road rage incident. Carvajal is suspected of then firing six rounds into the victim's vehicle and taking off.

The U.S. Department of Justice says Carvajal is an illegal immigrant from Mexico. He is being held in Alamance County Jail for ICE upon his release from local custody.
