A winter climb will be held at Cape Hatteras Lighthouse on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 9 a.m. to noon.
Children who want to climb the lighthouse must be at least 42-inches tall and children younger than 12 must be escorted by a person at least 16 years old.
The National Park Service says climbing the lighthouse is equivalent to climbing a 12-story building. For more information on what to expect, check the park website.
This lighthouse climb is part of the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau OBXmas Weekends initiative highlighting Outer Banks holiday events.
