GREENSBORO, N.C. – The City of Greensboro released a schedule for Field Operations Department loose leaf collection.
The collected leaves are made into compost to fertilize City gardens and landscaped areas and is available for sale at the at the White Street Landfill, 2503 White St.
The first round of loose leaf collection will begin Tuesday, November 7.
Leaves that are at the curb by that day will be removed by Friday, December 22.
The second collection runs from Thursday, December 28 to Friday, January 26, 2018.
The City of Greensboro has an interactive map to help citizens find out where their neighborhood is on the pick-up schedule.
Here are some tips the City of Greensboro offers for loose leaf collection:
- Rake leaves to the edge of your yard behind the curb -- not in the street or on the sidewalk.
- Remove sticks, rocks, and other debris that may damage City equipment.
- Do not park vehicles on, in front of, or near leaves.
- Residents may also use the City’s year-round yard waste program to dispose of leaves. To do so, place leaves in clear plastic bags or in a plastic or metal garbage can and set them at the curb on your regular trash collection day.
