TARBORO, NC - Corning Incorporated, a manufacturer of glass, ceramics and other materials is bringing over 400 jobs to North Carolina.
Corning is building a warehouse in Edgecombe County and a manufacturing facility in Durham. A release from the state says Corning will create 428 jobs over three years and will invest $275 million between the two sites.
$86 million is slated for the Edgecombe County site and $189 million is proposed for Durham. The company is creating 111 new jobs in Edgecombe and 317 in Durham.
“Corning knows first-hand that our state’s talented workforce and ideal location provide clear advantages for a growing company,” said NC Governor Roy Cooper. “This decision to bring new jobs to both Eastern North Carolina and the Triangle demonstrates confidence in workers in both the rural and urban parts of our state to produce and distribute this groundbreaking new product.”
