PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. -- Due to the treacherous road conditions across the Triad Monday, crews responded to multiple accidents.
Most of the accidents were reported to have started happening around 8 p.m.
Emergency workers in Guilford County told WFMY News 2 they were responding to 15 accidents around this time. They urged drivers to stay off the roads and to avoid all bridges in the county.
Police and emergency workers were busy in Forsyth County as well. Dispatchers told WFMY News 2 they were responding to several accidents on U.S. 52.
U.S. 52 Southbound at Akron Drive was backed up for miles according to dispatchers. Firefighters told us they also responded to the area and assisted on a tractor trailer accident at Liberty and 28th streets.
Injuries have been reported in both Guilford and Forsyth counties, but dispatchers tell us the extent of injuries are unknown at this time.
