Davidson County Commissioner Billy Joe Kepley Dies

DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. – Davidson County Commissioner Billy Joe Kepley has died.

According to Davidson Funeral Home, he passed away suddenly Saturday at age 78.

Kepley was serving his sixth term as a county commissioner. He served on several committees including the N.C. Department of Transportation Advisory Committee and the Piedmont Triad Rural Planning Organization.

Kepley was a mechanic in the U.S. Air Force. He retired after working for 30 years at AT&T.

He and his wife, Kathy, have four children. Kepley lived in the Welcome community and attended United Methodist Church.

Kepley's funeral arrangements have not yet been released.
