REDISVILLE, N.C. -- The North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles announced Friday the Reidsville License Plate Agency will be closed for possible violations of state law.
A news release from NCDOT says the agency, located on Turner Street, was closed amid an investigation by the DMV's License and Theft Bureau. It says the Bureau received a complaint and investigators determined the office needed to close and have its contract cancelled.
DMV representatives will start taking inventory and auditing the agency and will also work to remove equipment and supples belonging to the state.
The DMV is not releasing additional details at this time because the investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
The release says two other license plate agency locations in Rockingham County will remain open for service. They're located on Washington Street in Eden and E. Murphy St. in Madison.
