Eden Fire Fighters Donate Over 100 Fans For Elderly in Rockingham Co.

WENTWORTH, NC — The Eden Professional FireFighters Association Local 2723 are helping their neighbors stay cool after recently donating over 100 fans for elderly neighbors to use during the summer.

The Association donated 110 box fans for the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office and American Red Cross of Rockingham County's 'Fans for the Elderly' program, which gives relief to elderly people in Rockingham County without air conditioning.

The 'Fans for the Elderly' program runs through Aug. 15. Donations can be made at the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office or the American Red Cross in Reidsville. A record 433 fans were donated during last year's drive.

“The Eden Professional FireFighters Association Local 2723 is definitely helping us start things off right, but we still need the community’s help," said Rockingham County Sheriff Sam Page. "Each year the need exceeds the donations received.”
