Fight at Winston-Salem School After Students Accuse Teacher of Touching Girls

Two were arrested at a Winston-Salem school Thursday after a fight at a charter school stemming from students claiming a teacher was harassing students.

Some students at Carter G. Woodson school accused a teacher of inappropriately touching some of his girl students. Winston-Salem police say the students later took back their claim and said they were mad at the teacher.

When officers arrived, they found several involved in a disturbance with school employees around 3:30. Woodson is a public charter school.

Jose Amayacarranza and Cindy Lopez were arrested and charged with Assault on a School Employee. Amayacarranza was also charged with Assault on a Female.

Lopez was given a Written Promise to Appear in court. Amayacarranza was given a $2,000 secured bond. Their court date is scheduled for Nov. 15.
