Firefighters Respond To Gas Leak At Washington Elementary

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Firefighters responded to Washington Elementary after they received a call about a strong odor coming from the school.

Guilford County Schools Officials tell WFMY News 2 the school was evacuated after classes were dismissed around 3:15 p.m. Most the students were gone, but a few were still on campus.

Firefighters told WFMY News 2 they detected where the leak came from and no one was injured.

Hazmat crews and Piedmont Natural Gas also responded.
