Here's where to expect road closures and congestion:

Winston-Salem State Homecoming Parade - 10 a.m.

Downtown Winston-Salem (Fourth Street and surrounding streets) and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to Winston-Salem State University Campus (Cromartie Street).

The parade will cause multiple road closures and detours in the downtown area from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This link to the parade route from Winston-Salem State University’s website has specific details: https://www.wssu.edu/student-life/_files/documents/parade-route-map.pdf

Wake Forest - Louisville football game - 12:20 p.m.

Game at BB&T Field, 499 Deacon Blvd.

Winston-Salem State - Shaw football game - 1:30 p.m.

Game at Bowman Gray Stadium, 1250 South Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

Heavy traffic is expected from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The department asks drivers to plan accordingly, and follow signage and officer directions. Parade street closures may affect primary routes to the Wake Forest game, specifically the Cherry Street corridor northbound from Business 40.
