If only everyone got along during the holidays, peace would prevail. With a few body language tips, you can have a more relaxing time with your family.
Body language is important because your nonverbals can speak for you. The silent nonverbal messages you send when you’re talking to someone can change the dynamics of the conversation. You can pick up on the emotional subtleties that lets you know if someone is relaxed or stressed.
When you'd rather avoid someone, you can do so without being obvious. Let's say you walk up to a group of people, you can say hello, but scan right past the person you want to ignore. The key is to look in their direction without giving them direct eye contact.
Some people might want to vent their grievances in front of the family. If this happens, ask the person to walk into another room with you. The key is to remove the audience. If they insist to have an argument then disengage and tell them no.
