National Stop Bullying Day is tomorrow. One way to stop bullying is to speak up for yourself. When you feel intimidated it can be hard to speak up. You might say the right words, but your body language can say the opposite.
Your body language should say that you’re not a push over; that you can hold your own. One way to show this is through strong body language. For example, start with your stance. Feet hip distance apart. You come across as steady. Telling someone that you don't like the way they're treating you while your legs are crossed when you're standing, doesn't come across as assertive.
When you talk to someone make sure that your chin is level not down. With your chin up, you come across confident. Also, make sure your shoulders are pulled back. Again, sturdy body language lets the bully know that you're holding your own.
When you send silent messages that you're not easily intimidated lets the bully know that you're not an easy target.
