Breast Cancer Screenings In Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. - October is National Breast Caner Awareness Month.

It's more than just pink ribbons, marathon runs, and pink bras.

Women are also encouraged to get a mammogram to check for any possible signs of breast cancer.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, breast cancer in the U.S. is the most common cancer in women, no matter your race or ethnicity.

In 2014, more than 236,000 women were diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 40,000 died from the disease.

The United States Preventive Services Task Force recommends that women who are 50 to 74 years old and are at average risk for breast cancer get a mammogram every two years.

Although breast cancer screenings cannot prevent breast cancer, it can help find early signs of breast cancer.

The Breast Center of Greensboro Imaging offers patients different types of breast cancer screenings

You should speak with a doctor to find out which breast cancer screening tests are right for you.
